ZadokWCI: Sunday Recap Pt2

"Put Some Respect On His Name Pt2 I Jan 4, 2025 I Sermon Series

Listen here.

If you thought Part One was strong, Part Two showed up like, “Yeah… we’re not done yet.” Our Apostle came through like a whirlwind, flipping tables in our thinking, tightening our theology, and reminding everyone that New Year clarity does not only come with resolutions, but revelation.

This week’s message centered on a foundational reality that cannot be bypassed. You will never gain clarity about who you are until you have a true revelation of who Jesus is.

Apostle Michael Lewis taught that honoring the name of God is not about familiarity, repetition, or religious exposure. Respect is rooted in revelation. And revelation reshapes identity.

Matthew 16:13–14 (NKJV)

“When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, ‘Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?’

So they said, ‘Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.’”

Jesus intentionally raises a Kingdom-defining question in Caesarea Philippi, a city saturated with idolatry, pagan worship, and competing spiritual narratives. The setting is not incidental. It is instructional.

Environment influences perception.

Culture always attempts to frame the conversation about God. If left unchecked, it will inform language, shape assumptions, and limit revelation. The disciples respond with public opinion, not divine insight.

These were close guesses, but…..

“Close doesn’t count when it comes to truth.”

– MGLewisJr

“Familiarity with Jesus is not the same as the revelation of Him.”

– MGLewisJr

Matthew 16:15–16 (NKJV)

“He said to them, ‘But who do you say that I am?’

Simon Peter answered and said, ‘You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.’”

Jesus shifts the conversation from collective opinion to personal conviction. Revelation is never crowdsourced. It is encountered.

Faith that is inherited, borrowed, or mimicked may inspire behavior, but it cannot sustain authority.

Revelation is downloaded, not discovered.

Galatians 1:11–12 (NKJV)

“But I make known to you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached by me is not according to man.

For I neither received it from man, nor was I taught it, but it came through the revelation of Jesus Christ.”

What Peter declared was not the result of intellectual deduction. It was imparted. Heaven revealed what humanity could not conclude.

The moment Peter accurately identified Jesus, Jesus responded by redefining Peter.

The fastest way to gain clarity about who you are is to gain clarity about who He is.

– MGLewisJr

Matthew 16:17–18 (NKJV)

“Blessed are you, Simon Bar Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it.”

God never releases assignment before securing identity.

God never builds on insecurity. Before purpose is released, identity is secured.

– MGLewisJr

Just as Abram became Abraham and Simon became Peter, God establishes who we are before determining what we are entrusted to build.

Jesus declares that His church will be built on revelation, not personality, gifting, or charisma.

Where revelation is shallow, the church becomes fragile. Where revelation is deep, it is strong, stable, and unshakable.

– MGLewisJr

Matthew 16:19 (NKJV)

“And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

Gates are defensive structures. They do not advance. They resist.

The Church is not called to retreat. We are authorized to advance.

– MGLewisJr

However, revelation is never neutral. It carries responsibility.

“Revelation comes with responsibility.

– MGLewisJr

Authority is not impulsive. It is measured, proven, and stewarded.

Authority is entrusted, not rushed.

– MGLewisJr

Keys represent access, governance, and accountability. Heaven does not respond to volume or passion alone.

Heaven does not respond to empty words. Heaven responds to aligned authority.

– MGLewisJr

The Kingdom Blueprint:

Revelation establishes identity.

Identity releases authority.

Authority advances the Kingdom.

Christ revealed builds an unshakable Church.

– MGLewisJr

This message reminds us that information about Jesus is not enough. Transformation only occurs through revelation.

That is how His name is honored.

That is how His Church is built.

That is how we put respect on His name.
